RICK BRAUN

Trumpet & Vocals

Rick Braun lives in Los Angeles and has been playing trumpet since he was a kid. No news there for the legions of fans his richly melodic playing style has attracted since the release of his first album, “Intimate Secrets” in 1993. Less known is the fact that he’s been a singer, and a good one (backing Rod Stewart and Sade among others, with vocals as well as his stellar trumpet) for most of his life, as well.

Rick’s talent soon made him the object of the attention of many top recording and touring artists. He has collaborated with such an eclectic mix of artists Tina Turner, Natalie Cole, Tom Petty, Glen Frey, Boney James, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz, Richard Elliot, Jonathan Butler and many more. As producer, he delivered #1 radio hits with pianist David Benoit and guitarist Marc Antoine.

The two-time winner of the Gavin Report’s “Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year” award, hit the Top10 Billboard Jazz Song and Album Charts many times – headed by the #1 CD “Kisses in the Rain” (2001) and the #1 Song “Christiane”(2010). His latest and 18th album “Swingin’ in the Snow” was released in November 2012.
